Fatima 21st August 2012

Oladiji, an authoritative, proud man who owned every inch of his territory in Ondo. A man about order with little to show for emotion, was the picture often painted. This man was my distant grandfather. He was an engaging character in a few childhood stories Mother would share with me on occasions. It was not until his Christmas visit a couple of years ago, would I then truly appreciate my grandfather for having a solid presence in my life. The picture had materialised. He was all of what his character had been built on and then some. Yes, he had his quirks but in hearts of hearts he was a family man.
